Daaarkness… was probably the most ambitious release from the collective, at least thematically. The follow up to We Come In Peace succeeded in taking the genre-bending tendencies of the preceding release to another level creatively.

Just as they’ve done with other projects, the crew mapped out the concepts of the EP very early in the process. Midas called (notice a recurring theme?) and tossed around the idea of naming it “Monster Mash” or something to that effect. That was the working title for months, with the final title coming into play the day before the EP’s release.

My personal testimony – this project made me realize that Spacebunny Jefferson is perhaps one of the most talented songwriters that we today; easily my favorite. I mentioned in a previous post that she takes a unique approach to songwriting, and it was here that she revealed her three-pronged process (which I still won’t reveal). but it really changes the way that I listen to Radio Galaxy’s music.
