I always thought that autotuning the autotune on “Pop Champagne” would either nullify the effect and restore it to the regular voice, or open up a massive sucking vortex of sound that would deplete all the oxygen on Earth.

Glad to see neither happened.

Someone please enlighten me on why Jay-Z and Kanye are claimed to be biters. They simply had a song called death of the autotune which just so happened to be a popular phrase for the last 2 years. Big deal, that’s not biting, you guys actually took a whole other approach with your project. I’m not hating or insulting anyone in any form but simply trying to understand what FWMJ is saying.

peace.

I feel yall, however No original music puts you in the same category as these synthesized suckas. I just listened to Flex play the Jay song for about 5 hrs (live stream online at that). You got to get in John Connor mode to f#ck wit that machine. I don’t even follow J any more, but I do follow business and I know people are impressionable, so that’s probably a go and this not so much so. Still funny though.

Ps. I think NO ID made the beat. Either that or they need to fire the mixologist that left that in the refrain…”No Id on the track, now let the story begin….”
Also on the remix of that “Ooooooh” bs with Justin Timberlake, T-Pain announced that autotune only had a few months left.
My question is what are we going to replace it with? Opinions? More songs about money? or perhaps a new roundup of fakeass beefs? Let’s get back to the boom bap and the rap and stop little corny mfs dictate what’s next.

Yeah, This is overdue, this needs to be put on top 40 radio, played in the rotation flanked by whatever the current Weezy commercial reach is, and whichever No-Talent monkey-see monkey-do artist that wants to be singer this week because T-Painful & Flo-nada can get away with it. Trust Me! So even the corniest dudes get sick of bumping that Auto-Tune shit when cruising for their next date rape victim in their mid-90’s lex coupes, Beemers and Benzes.

Shit Y’all should make some videos for BET.

Y’all keep it up, the game is lame, we need to whip it into shape.

Yall countin 08 Money? Jigga still countin money from 88!! Nah, Im just jokin, but Im sure there was a better way to go about doing what yall are trying to do. If everybody really wants to kill the autotune, you should use it as promotion. Your whispers won’t be heard over the screaming Jay-Z fans. Take another direction, and in ‘10 yall can count triple what you counted in ‘09.

Peace

Smarten up Troutman….

Jun 14, 2009 11:20

That shit makes no sense. Did Jay steal the track for DOA? I know you guys put the vocoder on the map along with joe walsh and peter frampton but i don’t get why your calling Jay out!

Roger Riley Teddy Troutman
Jun 15, 2009 8:19

Justkause-

We posted the mixtape on 11/24/2008
http://www.rappersiknow.com/2008/11/24/roger-riley-teddy-troutman-death-of-autotune/

Kanye linked it to his blog on 01/11/2009
http://www.kanyeuniversecity.com/blog/?em3106=220134_-1__0_~-1_-1_05_2008_0_0&em3298=&em3282=&em3281=&em3161=

Jay said that Kanye gave him the idea to call it DOA / Death Of Autotune.

Coincidence? You decide.

Justkause
Jun 15, 2009 9:04

Ok then that makes complete sense! Yeah thats bullshit, he should have said you gave him the idea. Unless kanye was on a rant and played your shit off as his idea and jay ran with it. Either way i feel your angle now.

Jun 23, 2009 7:35

This stuff sounds horrible! I cant listen to much of it. Is it meant to sound wack, is that the joke? I’m not a huge Jigga fan, but am thankful he’s dropped that joint to kill this ish officially, make it officially wack to drop a track with autotune on it. You made it a wack mixtape, he made it a hot song.

Genius. Ante Up is probably my favorite, but hopefully this whole album will help combat the ubiquity of autotune and get people back to actual rap and hip hop.

Did some of ya’ll forget when “The Death of Autotune” by Roger and Teddy was first released here on FMWJ?

Again, you little phoney @#$@#$ that come by every once in a while and think you know what’s up… pitiful.

Go back to the radio or BET and don’t forget to take your blue pills.
