Hey everyone. Glad you’re enjoying the music!
This afternoon, we were linked on the infamous boingboing.net! A great honour. Specifically, the track addressing Governor Bush and his Administration’s less than speedy response to Katrina’s devastation in the Gulf.
Firstly, thank you for spreading the song. Mic and D pretty much put our feelings down here on the matter on record/in song.
Secondly, thanks to Kanye West for saying what he said the other night. I initially wasn’t going to comment on my man’s remarks here on the blog, as I’d like to keep my personal politics out of what I’m doing here for my friends, but what the hell—Big Up ‘Ye for speaking your damn mind and supplying the beat (unknowingly, but we’re thankful nonetheless) for what a lot of people have been and are feeling since this this whole ordeal started, much less since Governor Bush has been in office.
Thirdly, please, if you could, do not link directly to the song after you’ve downloaded it. If you could, please share the load on the bandwidth by hosting it yourself or sending it to people on IM, or however you feel the need to distribute it. Really, it’s yours, do as you please.
We only have 200 GB of traffic for the month here and with my host it costs like $3/GB for extra bandwidth or something like that which can get expensive. We’ve been moving about 1 GB of data every 5 minutes since we were linked over that way, so by the end of the night, this site will be dead until the 1st of October! YOUCH!

I guess only the uneducated masses would find any humor in this. Kanye has a right to free speech but he was misguided in his decision to use it. Homey got dissed last night during the opening ceremonies and his performance wasn’t tight. Fundraisers are supposed to encourage unity for a common cause. Kanye tried to politicize the event. then again, give any fool a chance to express himself and he will undoubtedly reveal his foolish ways. Make all the songs you want Kanye, but when you are trying to raise money it’s best not to criticize. By the way, what are Kanye’s qualifications in the political realm? Peace.

I’m not a hip-hop fan by any means, other than RL Burnside remixes, but this song is awesome! When I saw the Kayne clip on the Daily show (I had seen all of it before that), the way they just showed a Michale Myers sentence followed by Kayne’s, I laughed so hard. Kayne just pointed out the obvious, and it was a great place to do it. For the post above, every citizen has qualifications in the political realm. Everything happening in America is political.
I’m really hoping the black community will take this event and see that the power is in their hands. Educate yourselves, get your people out to vote; just getting out the vote will ensure these Repub assholes don’t continue to win office. America could be a great place if the people take over from the a-holes in D.C. The whole episode really angers me.

I respect Kanye for going off-script to speak from the heart and mind. He didn’t do too well when he tried to stay on-script. He wouldn’t have been true to himself if he’d continued to play along like that. I’m glad he said what he had to say. If all those people were Caucasians, especially with money and if they were mostly registered Republicans FEMA, cops from the West bank (where the bridge was a way out of New Orleans) and other armed forces wouldn’t have trapped them there. FEMA wouldn’t have cut off communications (like at cell phone towers). If not for the media, which finally did the right thing, we wouldn’t have known how bad that situation was and that could’ve cost a lot more lives.
Besides, I agree with Kanye…George Bush doesn’t care about black people. He doesn’t care about a lot of other people, either. I’ve been saying that for several years now.

it’s really fun to point fingers at washington and blame the guy in charge, BUT the truth is that the federal government is not obligated to provide charity. Charity is up to the people, and the American people have responded, I hope all of you have done your part, cause i have done what i could.
